We hope this finds you well and that 2017 was a great year for you! As you may know, the Conservation District has had an active no-till equipment rental program for many years. We have helped landowners plant thousands of acres of land in Lackawanna County over the years and do their part to reduce soil erosion on their farm. In order to ensure that we can continue to offer the best possible service through this program, the Conservation District has purchased a new, no-till drill with the help of Chesapeake Bay Special Project Grant funding. As with our old machine, it is a 10 foot wide, Haybuster 107 drill with 7.5 inch row spacing and double disc openers. The new unit was delivered this winter and will be ready for immediate use in the spring to any interested landowners.

With the purchase of the new drill, the Conservation District board has decided to offer our previous drill for sale and purchase to a local landowner to ensure that it will continue to plant no-till acres in Lackawanna County for years to come. The drill will be sold in “as-is” condition through a sealed bid process. The minimum bid will be set at $5500.00 and will be sold to the highest bidder. The deadline for the District to receive submitted bids is 4:00pm on February 16th, 2018. All bids should be addressed to Jerry Stiles and can be mailed to or dropped off in person at the Conservation District office located at: 1038 Montdale Road, Suite 109, Scott Township, PA 18447.

If you have any questions, please contact District Manager Jerry Stiles at: (570) 382-3086 OR stiles@lccd.net.
