About The DistrictThe Lackawanna County Conservation District is a legal subdivision of state government responsible under state law for conservation work within county boundaries. Established in 1958, LCCD strives to provide for the conservation of soil and water resources through the control and prevention of soil erosion and conservation, restoration and planning of the county’s watersheds. LCCD serves the public as being a clearinghouse for information, erosion & sedimentation control, watershed conservation, environmental education & public outreach. |

DEP's Environmental Education Grant Program
PA DEP's Environmental Education Grant Program has enabled the Conservation District to work with two county elementary schools to plant habitat gardens. Carbondale Elementary School and Riverside East Elementary School will be planting Habitat Gardens in the spring of this year. If you live in either of these school district's and would like to get involved please call the District office at (570)-382-3086. NEW Permit Decision Guarantee Policy Notice:Tentatively scheduled for November 14, 2012 DEP will begin implementing new permit review procedures under the Permit Decision Guarantee Policy. This policy will affect both the Individual and General NPDES permit application reviews. The following link has additional information on the PDG Policy. We've Moved!!! The Lackawanna County Conservation District had to suspend our annual seedling sale for 2013 due to the relocation of our office. As of March 1, 2013 we will be relocating to Scott Township's Joe Terry Center at: 1038 Montdale Rd. Suite 109 Scott Township, PA 18447
Seedling Sale Suspended for 2013!
The LCCD annual seedling sale takes place in April each year. This year it will take place on April 21st, 2012. District Monthly Meeting LCCD Board of Directors meets on the third Thursday of each month at the district office in Scott Twp, Joe Terry Center at 12:30 PM
